Embroidery and Screen Printing are the two most popular ways to add logos to apparel. Two main factors to consider are price and look.
EMBROIDERY
Your logo is created by different color threads stitched to the garment using a computerized embroidery machine.
PRICE
One Time Fee – You’re logo has to be digitized. This creates a version of your logo that instructs the embroidery machine what to stitch. The price can vary greatly from as little as $30-$90+ to have your logo digitized.
Price Per Item is determined by the number of stitches in your logo and the number of items with the same logo being embroidered.
BEST FOR
- Non-waterproof Jackets
- Work Shirts
- Polo Shirts
- Hats
- Fleece Sweatshirts
The lower the thread count, the lower the cost, ask you rep if that is an option. Keep a copy of your digitized logo on hand to avoid being charged this fee.
SCREEN PRINTING
Your logo is created by different color inks which are pushed through mesh screens onto the garment.
PRICE
One Time Fee – This fee is dependent on the number of colors in your logo. A screen needs to be created for each color in addition to a “base” layer screen. This fee usually ranges between $20-$50 for most logos with less than 4 colors.
Price Per Item is determined by the number of colors in the logo and the number of pieces with the same logo being screen printed.
BEST FOR
- Waterproof Jackets
- T-shirts
- Cotton Sweatshirts
- Large Volume of Polo Shirts
- Casual Wear
Consider limiting your logo to 1-2 colors to save money.
